Bonnaroo requires careful packing and even more careful planning.
Study the tips that veterans provide and believe all the hype about staying hydrated, keeping the pocket portion of baby wipes or hand sanitizer (or both) with you at all times, and remembering to rest, to wear sunblock, and to bring the powerful preventive called Gold Bond powder.
And here’s an extra as one who has been sober for three Roos in a row: the party is overrated, and you miss that “special set” or worse due to a party foul or intoxication malfunction. Iced coffee and iced water are my summer drinks of choice every day but especially at Roo.
But in all the pregame rhetoric, the most important thing to read is the schedule over at Bonnaroo.com! Don’t leave deciding what shows to see until the last minute! Here’s a playlist (listed below and complete with a Spotify link for your listening pleasure) with some highlights, but it’s by no means exhaustive or inclusive, because every person’s Roo is unique, and we are still studying the schedule and will be right up until showtime!
If you’re there, you can find me working in the Academy Tent in Planet Roo, sitting at the Soberoo support meetings, or dancing at one of these shows. Here we go! Bonnaroooohooooo!
