"Songs of Fire and Rain"
As I prepare a show about--among other things--extreme weather and the planet's predicament, a severe storm system approaches us. Hopefully, the power will remain on for the duration of tonight's program!
What began as a program about global "heating and cooling" has turned into something else entirely, a collage of songs about wind and water, fires and floods.
Dedicated to the victims and survivors of the New Orleans floods of 2005 and the San Diego fires of 2007, this project ponders forces elemental and fundamental, the powers to heat and heal that also hurt and harm.
